The Social Action Committee is a group of students in 5th -8th grade who support and assist in causes and projects that are consistent with the school’s social and religious goals. Members look to improve our world, locally and globally. Students focus on supporting those who are in need or less fortunate with the coordination of an annual food drive for local food pantries, letters and care packages for troops overseas, and a Mother’s Day collection for a local Battered Women’s Shelter. Locally students work to improve the school by planting flowers and decorating for holidays. Students support Global concerns in their effort to protect the environment and the sanctity of life.
Mrs. Costantino (mcostantino@staschoolnj.org) heads this program, and regularly meets with the students involved to plan new ways to serve those in need. So far this year the students have had collections for Veterans and Goryeb Children's Hospital. The students are preparing for food collections and other drives throughout the school year.
