St. Thomas the Apostle School enriches the academic lives of students through a wide variety of activities, including leadership and service opportunities, social and cultural events, clubs, and assemblies. A large number of our students gain a lifelong love for music by participating in our Christmas Concert and Spring Musical. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Music Ministry by joining our St. Thomas the Apostle Choir in the church.
Several clubs are centered on creative and intellectual outlets, including Forensics, Debate Club, Chess, Student Council. NJHS, Peer Tutoring, and Social Actions. We have recently partnered with the Montclair Learning Center to expand our horizons in the areas of STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). With this partnership, we have been able to incorporate after-school courses such as CSI STEM, Roller Coaster Engineering STEM, and Young Builders Club. (Build it, Build it)
Our students are given the opportunity to explore and expand their multiple talents/intelligences in the arts and academic areas of the curriculum by participating in our annual STREAM Fair and Expo, school-wide plays, poetry, and writing contests, and concerts. St. Thomas the Apostle School students live their Christian values by participating in a number of community service projects with several local organizations such as collecting items for local food pantries, Catholic Community Services, collecting items for The Battered Women’s Shelter, and more.
